About the Space

About the Space

Avila sits on a serene, wooded 50-acre property 20 minutes north of Durham, North Carolina. The property can accommodate up to 53 overnight guests and offers multiple indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, along with nature trails, gazebos, a labyrinth, a fire pit, a dining hall and kitchen, high-speed wireless internet, parking, amenities that follow ADA accessibility guidelines and more.

The main building includes multiple meeting spaces, a library, a dining room and kitchen, a patio and a private guest suite.

Together with the private suite, the seven modest residence cabins on the property provide 32 heated/air-conditioned rooms that can host 53 overnight guests — 12 in single-occupancy rooms and 40 in double-occupancy rooms.

The 50-acre property also offers spaces for relaxed social interaction, contemplation and a chance to be out in nature. One can walk along nearly a mile of trails, sit by the creek, meet in one of our three gazebos, enjoy the walking meditation labyrinth or roast marshmallows with friends around the fire pit.

See our Plan a Visit and Photo Gallery pages for more pictures of the space.
